JT File Format
What is a JT file?
JT (Jupiter Tessellation) is a 3D CAD format by Siemens, used in NX, Teamcenter and other PLM tools. Contains tessellated geometry, materials, and scene hierarchy. ISO standard 14306.
Which JT versions does CADCON support?
We support JT files from Siemens NX and Teamcenter.
Can I open a JT file without Siemens software?
Yes. CADCON converts JT to glTF or GLB — no Siemens NX or Teamcenter license needed.
What data is preserved?
Tessellated geometry, vertex normals, material colors, and scene hierarchy. PMI, B-rep and textures not supported.
Output Formats
Difference between glTF and GLB?
glTF is a JSON file with a separate .bin file. GLB packs everything into one binary — easier to share.
Which format to use?
Use GLB for viewing and sharing. Use glTF + .bin to inspect or modify the file structure.
Can I use output in Three.js or Babylon.js?
Yes. Both formats are supported by Three.js (GLTFLoader) and Babylon.js (SceneLoader).
What does the API return?
outputFormat=glb returns .glb. outputFormat=gltf returns .zip with model.gltf + model.bin. outputFormat=both returns .zip with all three.
API & Integration
How do I use the REST API?
POST your .jt file to https://cadcon.io/api/convert with your API key as Bearer token.
How many files at once?
Up to 5 files via web interface. Each file uses one credit. REST API processes one file per request.
MCP support for AI agents?
Yes. CADCON has an MCP server for Claude, GPT-4 and other AI agents. Contact support@cadcon.io.
Credits & Pricing
What is a credit?
One credit = one JT file conversion, regardless of file size or output format.
Do credits expire?
Purchased credits are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. No subscription, no monthly fees.
What if a conversion fails?
No credit charged for failed conversions. Contact support@cadcon.io.
